TD-02 System Program (Ver.1.01)

HOW TO FIND THE VERSION
Please check the version of the system working on your TD-02 before downloading the file.
  1. Press [ ] to turn on the power.
    [ Roland V-Drums TD-02 ] appears on the screen and then a short wait until screen changes.
  2. Press [ MENU ].
  3. Press [ ] or [ ] to select [ VERSION ], then press [ ENTER ].
    The version information is displayed on the screen.
  4. Press and hold [ ] to turn off the power.

* If the latest version is shown, update is not necessary.

Change the specification
  • The default value for Auto Off has been changed to 20 minutes.
    * For information on the Auto Off function, please refer to the [ OWNER'S MANUALS ].
Bug Fixes
  • Fixed a bug that prevented wireless MIDI transmision when a separately sold Bluetooth® Audio MIDI Dual Adaptor ( BT-DUAL ) is connected.
  • Minor bugs have been fixed.
What you will need to update your TD-02
  • TD-02 Sound Module
  • AC adaptor(PSB-5U)
  • Computer (Windows or Mac) equipped with a USB port compliant with USB 2.0 or USB 3.0
  • USB Cable
    * The update is carried out with the unit and the computer connected via USB.
    Provide a cable suitable for connection to the computer you're using.
  • Update Program
Caution when performing the update
  • Never apply this update data to any product other than the TD-02. This update data may destroy the data or system program of other products.
  • Do not disconnect the cable while the update is in progress!
    If a power failure or similar accident occurs during the update process, the TD-02 won’t be able to start up in normal operating mode. This will require servicing, so you will need to contact Roland service center near you if this occurs.
  • We regret that we are unable to answer questions regarding the update procedure using this system program. Please perform the update responsibly, following the directions given in this document.
Getting the update file
Download the file named td02_sys_v101.zip to any folder.
The downloaded file is an archive in zip format. After downloading it, expand the file.
After expanding the file, the folder td02_sys_v101 holding the file TD02_UPA.BIN will appear.
Procedure for the update
Follow the procedure below to install the unarchived system program onto the TD-02.
* Do not disconnect the cable while the update operation is in progress.
  1. Hold down [ ENTER ] and press[ ].
  2. When [ Update ] appears on the screen of the TD-02, release your finger.
  3. Connect the computer and TD-02 with the USB cable.
    Connect the cable to the USB COMPUTER connector of TD-02.
    [ Copy files then disconnect USB. ] is displayed on the screen.
  4. Open [ TD-02 ] drive on the computer.
  5. Copy (Drag & drop) the update program (TD02_UPA.BIN) in td02_sys_v101 folder to the root folder of the TD-02 drive.
    *Do not copy td02_sys_v101 folder itself.
  6. When the copy finished, detach the USB Drive from the computer.
    [ Windows ] Right click on TD-02 folder and detach.
    [ Mac ] Drag TD-02 icon to the trash box.
    *In the case the update starts automatically by detaching the drive, disconnect the cable after [ update finished ] appears on the screen.
  7. Disconnect USB Cable.
    Update starts automatically.
    *Do not turn off the power while updating.
    When [ update finished. ] is displayed, the update operation has finished.
  8. Press and hold [ ] to turn off the power.
