RD-88EX System Program ( Ver.1.22 )

Use this system program if you have applied the RD-88 EX Upgrade.
HOW TO KNOW THE VERSION
Before you start, check the system program version of your RD-88EX.
  1. Press [ MENU ] to invoke the MENU screen.
  2. Use the cursor [ V ] button to select INFORMATION, then press the [ ENTER ] button.
    The version information screen appears.
* If this shows the latest version, there's no need to update your RD-88EX.

Change the specification
  • The default value for Auto Off has been changed to 20 minutes.
    * For information on the Auto Off function, please refer to the OWNER'S MANUALS.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO UPDATE
  • RD-88EX
  • USB Memory
    * The USB Memory need to be formatted on a RD-88EX.
Cautions with the update
  • Never apply this update data to any product other than the RD-88EX. This update data may destroy the data or system program of other products.
  • Never power-off your RD-88EX while the update is in progress!
    If a power failure or similar accident occurs during the update process, the RD-88EX won't be able to start up in normal operating mode. This will require servicing, so you will need to contact Roland service center near you if this occurs.
  • We regret that we are unable to answer questions regarding the update procedure using this system program. Please perform the update responsibly, following the directions given in this document.
GETTING THE UPDATE FILE
Download the file named "rd88ex_sys_v122.zip".
The downloaded file is an archive file in zip format. Right-click to select Extract All, and then follow the instructions.
PROCEDURE FOR THE UPDATE
Creating the Update USB Memory
  1. Copy update files MI076_UPA_up.bin to the root directory of a USB Memory.
Update Procedure
  1. Connect the USB Memory to the USB MEMORY port.
  2. Hold down the [ 9 (OTHER) ] button and turn on the power.
    The message " RD-88EX Updater... " appears on the display, and the update operation starts.
    * Continue to hold down the [ 9 (OTHER) ] button until " RD-88EX Updater... " appears on the display.
  3. When the message " Please power off " appears, the update operation has finished.
    * The update operation takes about 2 minutes.
  4. Press the power button to turn off the power.
    Detach the USB Memory from the RD-88EX.
  5. This completes the update operation. The new system program runs at the next startup.
    Follow the procedure for verifying the version to verify that the version has been updated.
