- After the value of the Rotary Snd Chorus setting in Organ Parameters has been changed, selecting a different tone and returning it to the original tone returns the Rotary Snd Chorus setting to its default value.

The following bugs were fixed.
- Expression messages are output even when the Orchestra section setting in "16.4 Expression MIDI TX" is set to "Off."
- No Expression message is output when the Left Hand Registers are pressed and a tone in the Orchestra Chord or Orchestra Free Bass section is changed.
- When a Set is saved, tone names in the Orchestra 1 section are sometimes displayed as "Not Found."

- Support for FR-8x Editor was added.
- A new keyboard layout was added to the left-hand button keyboard (Bass & Chord Mode). (3 Bs Rows Belgium 2)
- New keyboard layouts were added to the left-hand button keyboard (Free Bass Mode). (Belgium 1, Belgium 2, and Kravtsov)
- "BALANCE MODE" was added to the parameters.
The ability to specify the functioning of the [ BALANCE ] knob was added.Bass-Treb: Volume balance of "left-hand play" and "right-hand play"
Song-Acc: Volume balance of "audio file" and "keyboard play by the FR-8x" - "USER PRG SELECT" was added to the parameters.
The ability to specify the functioning of the [ < ] and [ > ] buttons during user-program selection was added.Up/Dw Bank: The buttons select the bank.
Up/Dw Num: The buttons call up user programs in numerical order. - "UPG Filter" was added to the parameters.
The Transpose setting can now be maintained even when the user program is switched. - "VOICING" was added to the Bass & Chord part parameters.
The root or third tone can now be removed. - A setting for omitting the root or third tone was added to the "VOICING" parameter for orchestra chord parts.
- "SHIFT" was added to the parameters.
The range of "Orchestra 1," "Orchestra 2," and "Orchestra Free Bass" tones can now be shifted in half-tone steps. - "Sustain A" and "Sustain B" were added to the "MIDI TX" settings for "Orchestra 1" and "Orchestra 2" parts.
Whether to send or not send a sustain value (CC64) to the Sustain A or Sustain B routing can now be specified. - "Drum" was added to the "Expression MIDI TX" settings.
The following bugs were fixed.
- The problem of noise occurring in rare instances when stopping playback of an audio file was corrected.
- The problem was corrected in which playing of orchestral sounds failed to stop under certain specific conditions during performance by the right-hand keyboard with orchestra sounds and drum sounds set to layers.
- The problem of the inability to play an orchestra free bass part according to the keyboard layout when the Bass & Chord Mode is set to 3-row bass was corrected.
- The problem was corrected in which the organ volume level momentarily becomes louder depending on the mode of play when the VTW organ sound is set to both hands.
- The problem of the organ part "Perc. Type" parameter failing to work correctly was corrected.
- The problem of the organ part "Perc. Foot" parameter display (2'-2/3', 4') being the opposite of the organ part sound was corrected.
- The problem of the organ tone name sometimes failing to be displayed correctly on the main screen or in a popup screen was corrected.
- The problem was corrected in which MFX is displayed on the setting screen regardless of specifications in which it is not applied being in effect when "VTW Organ" is selected for "Orchestra Chord" or "Orchestra Free Bass."
- The problem was corrected in which the harmonic bar setting screen is temporarily unreachable when "VTW Organ" is selected for "Orchestra Bass," "Orchestra Chord," and "Orchestra Free Bass."
- The problem was corrected in which at MFX Edit and MFX Ctrl pages for some parts, after a Register change the display is correct but the value is not applied.
- MIDI transmit channel-related problems were corrected.

The following bugs were fixed.
- After User Program List selection, User Program Bank scrolling does not function correctly.
- When Highland or Zanpogna is selected for the Orchestra 1 part, the master bar does not change to accordion sound.
- When Highland or Zanpogna is selected for the Orchestra 2 part, sound sometimes plays continuously.
- Support was added for the ONKYO UWF-1 Wireless USB Network Adapter.

[ Additional Functions ]
The following bugs were fixed.
[ Ver.1.06 ]
- Added option to set Speakers On with phones connected.
- User Program number in save window now is the same as the latest User Program selected.
- The temporary windows have been shortened.
- Added Audio Boost parameter to raise up general volume.
- Added WAV/MP3 level parameter.
- Audio loops shorter than half second are no more recorded.
The following bugs were fixed.
- Orchestral Bass and Orchestral Chord lowest notes are influenced by transpose in a strange way.
- Organ notes are sent via MIDI with a wrong octave.
- FC-300 pedal board is not working after an "Import All Sets" procedure.
- Wrong notes when the BassToTreble function is activated and an accordion register is selected.
- "Hardware error" message during battery pack charge:
- Charge the battery pack.
- When the battery pack is completely charged ([CHARGE] button lights green), start charging the battery again, without powering the V-Accordion off.

- Improved default set data.
- Code optimized for faster execution in User Program mode.

- Fixed battery updater problem when the battery reaches a temperature too high.
- Fixed hung up when Bass to Treble mode is activated while bass note is playing.
- Fixed musette detune variation not working at power on.
- Fixed registers 13 and 14 not changing via MIDI.
- Fixed some minor graphical bugs.
ITEMS TO PREPARE FOR THE UPDATE
Following items are required to perform the update.
- FR-8x / FR-8xb itself
- USB Memory ( Roland's M-UF2G is recommended )
* The USB Memory need to be formatted on a PC. - A computer with a USB connector ( Windows, Mac )
CAUTIONS WITH THE UPDATE
- We recommend that you save your user data to a USB memory before you perform the update. If a problem occurs and your user data is lost, you will be able to restore the original state by reloading the data you saved. For details on the procedure, refer to the following sections of the Owner's Manual.
- Export Sets to the Optional USB memory
- Export User Programs to the Optional USB memory
- Never apply this update data to any product other than the FR-8x / FR-8xb. This update data may destroy the data or system program of other products.
- Never power-off your FR-8x / FR-8xb while the update is in progress!
If a power failure or similar accident occurs during the update process, the FR-8x / FR-8xb won’t be able to start up in normal operating mode. This will require servicing, so you will need to contact Roland service center near you if this occurs. - We regret that we are unable to answer questions regarding the update procedure using this system program. Please perform the update responsibly, following the directions given in this document.
HOW TO UPDATE
- Expand the downloaded file "fr8x_sys_v253.zip" on your computer to get the following content ( 7 files ).

- PICUPD819.MID
- PROGRAM.BIN
- release.txt
- rom.bin
- romsum.txt
- startup
- update - First delete all existing files from the USB memory then copy the above content ( 7 files ) to the USB memory's root folder.
- After verifying that the FR-8x / FR-8xb power is off, plug the USB memory into the FR-8x / FR-8xb USB MEMORY port.
- Turn the power on while keeping and holding the [MENU/WRITE] button pressed until the message "Update Mode:" will appear on the display.
When updating is successfully completed, the "SUCCESS" message will appear on the display. Turn the FR-8x / FR-8xb power off and unplug the USB memory.
Note: The update procedure takes about 5 minutes.
Attention:
During the update procedure you must not:
a. switch off the FR-8x / FR-8xb
b. disconnect the USB Memory
